A Call to Artists

Display the fruit of your inspiration
Would you like to display your works of art in Cromford Mill?
The Gallery is open all year round. It offers a well lit space of about 27 x 28 feet on the ground floor and is accessible for wheelchairs. Over recent years, the Gallery has hosted exhibitions, works by groups of local artists and mainly individual shows.
It is available by the week (Friday pm to the following Friday am) on the basis of a donation to the Arkwright Society. We help to promote the event by publishing details of forthcoming exhibitions in the Arkwright Society Newsletter and on this website.
The walls in the Restaurant also provide display space, currently divided into six separate areas each occupied by works from an individual artist.These spaces are offerred for a 12 month period with a 25% commission payable to Cromford Mill on any works sold. Sales are such that competition for the space is now fierce. Any artist interested in exhibiting on this basis is asked to submit six photographs of their work, contact details and any background information which may be useful to the selection panel. The panel will slect which artists have been awarded space and all those who have submitted work for selection will be informed of the panel's decision.
