'Upside Waiting Room'
A privately managed cottage to let
The launch of the Arkwright Society's own restoration work in 2009 also coincided with the unveiling of the Upside Waiting Room. Built in 1860 it housed a ladies’ waiting room, general waiting room, and booking hall and office. Tim Collis, owner, was granted permission in 2008 to convert the disused building into a holiday cottage. Having undergone a complete transformation, with the use of traditional materials including lime plaster and lime mortar, the old station building is now a desirable holiday let.
