Conference
With its beautiful location in rolling
hills with limestone tors and its wonderful history the Cromford
Mill Conference Centre offers a truly unique venue within
the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site The Centre provides
a variety of meeting rooms in the canal side Gothic Warehouse
building and within the main mill site in the University
of Derby Suite.
The Gothic Warehouse was built in the late eighteenth century
to service the Cromford Canal Wharf. It takes its name from
the castellated gable which was included to help it blend
with nearby Willersley Castle, the Arkwright family home.
This Grade II listed warehouse offers two separate function
rooms on the ground and first floor. Both floors have disabled
access and toilet facilities, however only the ground floor
has wheelchair access. Each room is fully furnished with
tables and chairs that can be arranged to suit your requirements.
Each room can comfortably seat 25 people boardroom style
(and more with advance notice), 60 theatre and 24 classroom.
Audio Visual equipment including television, video, slide
and overhead projector are available at a small charge. Drinks
and food can be ordered from our menu to suit your requirements
and budget.
The University of Derby Suite site is situated
on the first and second floor of Building 17, an original
Arkwright warehouse within the main mill complex. These provide
a spacious
and professional environment for meetings and conferences,
large or small. There are three large function rooms, Derwent,
Winster and Riber plus two smaller rooms Ible and Lea which
are ideal for tutorials or small seminar groups.
